Would you like to help Suffolk County United Veterans Project, Inc. in its mission to help homeless veterans? We have various ways you or your community can get active and involved in this worthy cause. Help us help a vet.
- Get Involved: Everyone has something to offer. A talent, a skill, a strong arm, or a good ear. Volunteers are always needed for various projects through out the year. Volunteer your services. Professionals such as lawyers, dentists, doctors, social workers and psychologists are especially needed to provide services that are not always covered by social services. Suffolk County United Veterans is also looking for talented tradesmen who are willing to share their time and talents to assist us in maintaining or updating our facilities. Plumbers, carpenters, masonry and tilemen, or if you just want to make a donation of goods rather than services, we are always grateful for your assistance. Whether you want to work or donate your help is always needed. Most importantly you can help us by being a mentor, a friend, a guide to men who need your time and talent.
- Get Informed: Understanding homelessness and its causes and in particular the issues that affect homeless veterans is the first step in turning the tide of this national and local problem. Write to your local political representatives, search the web for information, write to your local media. Make your voice heard on behalf of the men and woman who have served our country and now need our help. Homeless veterans have been identified as the "Missing inAmerica." In times of conflict we rightly remember the men and women in the service, but what about the ones who have served and need our help? You can make a difference.
Your financial support of Suffolk County United Veterans (SCUV) can make all the difference for a homeless veteran. Please consider giving today!
